This was a much-needed post. While everyone over there tries to inject some "balance" I would say you hit it squarely for me. For the first time, in my fifties, I'm getting involved with men in my church on the level of the things you expressed as needs.
It is the grace-filled approach that moves me -- hard-core accountability with absolutely no hint of condemnation. Since I have spent my 50+ years under the incessant hammer of self-condemnation, the in-your-face love approach releases a huge burden from my psyche. I have not seen it fade into "in-your-face" alone.
1 Timothy 1:15: This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
