It is a nice picture but I must say that this is an ape not a monkey.
Thanks for the explanation. I was beginning to wonder just what random urge made you guys post a picture of a monkey. Hee.
You mean there has to be an explanation?
Songstress, you must be "newer" than I thought. We've posted pics of monkeys on the site before just for the heck of it!
You can see the history of our monkey business by putting "monkey" into our search feature.
I repeat the need to establish an official Pictures of Monkeys category.
Pictures of Monkeys - category created.
By the way, I knew that postdating the posts would work - but I had some doubting mustaphas to mollify. Hence the test.
I think my monkey's the cutest.
Yes. But only if you call them monkeys. I'm going to post a picture of Koko the Sign-Language Gorilla and call it "Yet Another Monkey" just to t.o. Brian the Biology Nazi. ;-)
Is a gorilla an ape? Man, I need help with the bio stuff.
When Beth is having trouble sleeping I take one of her stuffed dogs and say, "Here, hold your kitty cat". She laughs so hard as she tells me, "That's not a CAT". It cheers her up every time.
I have a post-dated, unsigned, two-party temporary topic. Can I still post that? Will you need a thumborint on the upper right corner or my signature on the back?
Is a gorilla an ape?
How about we put an end to this madness and say Primate Pictures? ;)
I'm not sure which is more disturbing, that you have a category for monkey (primates, whatever) picures, that you have gotten 25 comments (at this writing) on the latest two, or that I'm commenting on a post that's nothing but a monkey picture.
i think that this pictuer is very cute and it looks like it likes to cudle with things and people that are close to huge with!
Can I post a pic of a bunny with a pancake on his head?

Hey, it worked! (For the clueless masses, this is the result of an experiment by Bill, based on a query by Blo, to post-date a piece and see if we could delay its appearance on the site. Looks like it's a can-do thing. Bill "posted" this pic at 4:15 but set the time for 4:30 to see if it would appear fifteen minutes later. Sweet!)
And that's an awesome pic, Bill. Monkeys rule!
I think we need to go ahead and establish an official Pictures of Monkeys category.
