I saw this on Reformissionary, and it just seemed to have such a sweetness to it, I decided to post it here. It's by a band I'd never heard of before (Cloud Cult).

Just seemed like a song of longing, of missing someone. That's what I liked about it.
I also liked the live performance in the studio aspect of this, and the fact that the band has a violin and a cello, and that almost everyone in the band sang.
De,
Did you check out the MTV interview that reformissionary linked to?

I know this is my hang-up, but I just learned something about myself. :) I just learned that I have wrong expectations of Christians sometimes.
I asked "what was the song about?" because I figured that because it was posted by you here, and from reformissionary that it would be a christian band and a christian song.
Woops. :) That's not a criticism of you or reformissionary. That was just me being silly.
And it got me thinking, "Why do Christian bands songs have to be about something?" Once I found out it was secular, I was like, "Oh, never mind. It doesn't matter what the song was about."
And yeah, I liked what you liked - the live aspect and that everyone sang and they have a cello.
Oh, and in concert, they have two painters! and their "visual artists" are listed as part of the band on the band's website!
Man, are we in a post-modern era, or what!?!? :)
Hi Shrode
I didn't know whether they were Christian or not. Reformissionary posts music posts every monday and most of the music he posts on is not from Christian bands.
I disagree that it doesn't matter what a song's about. I think it always matters, whether the artist is a Christian or a non-Christian. Every song is about something. I think it matter what it's about and (as Jared would say) "how" it's about it :-)
I don't know much about this band, so if any of their stuff is objectionable, I apologize.
Pretty cool...
I liked it. Well. I like the last half of it. I skipped the first half, because the intro was too slow and boring for me. :)
What was the song about anyway?
