"The first and most important thing to say about John Dominic Crossan's work is that it is bad history."

Almost Time

The season premier of "Lost" is rapidly approaching. Maybe Bill and I will resume our dueling live-blog viewings. :-)

Check out this print ad for the new season. Notice anything interesting in the water's reflection?

I'm telling you, go download the ITunes Free Lost videos. There are three of them:
A. 2-minute trailer for the season premiere
B. 3-minute recap of last season's final ep
C. 8-minute, 15-second recap of the WHOLE SERIES

"C" is a very cool video. Very cool. It also hints at some things that weren't exactly settled in the past while dropping hints about the future of the series.

I'm betting that the new season takes place in the "future" with Jack/Kate/etc. trying to figure out how to get back. Flashbacks will be what we've known as the "present".

Got it! Haven't watched it yet, though. But I'm excited to. I need a refresher.

I have no idea what this season holds, but I would love to see Bill and Jared battle-blog again! :o)

Thanks for the tip on the reflection - I've seen that ad a couple of times and not noticed it. Ack!

Well, not that I have any hopes in prevailing against Jared in a blog-o-battle, I plan on trying my hand at live-blogging again this season, whenever I can.

I've talked to Quaid a few times about the previews/online clues/etc, so he probably knows what's coming in this comment: In general, I'm agin 'em. For several reasons: 1) I don't think the writers *really* give much away in these online "clues". I know people who spent hours and hours on the Hanso site, etc, and, from talking to them, I don't think they have any clearer idea of what's going to happen than I do. 2) I find the show more enjoyable if the show remains the primary conduit of Lost information. That's where the real meat is, and I've wondered if all the clues, etc aren't either a) just subterfuge or b) created by people who don't really know what's going on in the show.

In short, I'm a curmudgeon on all things in the Lost "meta".

That being said: yeah, that reflection is cool!

Heh - I just noticed the little title "The wait is over".

At first glance I thought it said "The Walt is over"

And I was thinking "Oh, no. WAAAAAAALLLLLTTTTT!!!"

The fact that the videos are from the producers and not leaked stuff is what makes it okay for me to watch. While they don't necessarily give you the answers to the future (what you're trying to avoid, right?) they fill you in on various parts of the past story line to enhance what will happen (something you desire, right?)

If you know that all of the "meta" stuff, as you call it, does nothing to spoil what will happen, why would you not visit it, especially if it was made, by the producers, for more intense fans, anyway?

The mobisodes are GREAT examples (online at ABC.Com). They fill in missing parts to the past story that are interesting. They are written by the actual writers, directed by the actual directors, acted by the actual actors, etc. They are, in essence, mini-shows.

You can find out more about Walt's time with the Others, more about Ben/Juliet's relationship(!), more about Michael/Sun, etc. (BTW, Michael's appearances in these mobisodes reminds me that he wasn't always crazy)

There is another online game that is a bit quicker that gives insight as to what the boat is doing that they're contacting on the final ep of Season 3. The game is located at Find815.com

I'm playing - it's fun. A great way to gear up for the show without spending hours of your life away . . .

That's a cool reflection since the already released season preview said, "some will leave the island," I've been assuming this whole time that at least part of S4 will be off the island. The reflection is confirmation.

OK, is everyone talking about the city reflection or what looks like a 'G' just above the ABC logo?

Maybe I'm looking too hard ...
