The foundations of the man-made global warming "consensus" have cracked even more this week:
More bad news today for the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), as another of its extravagant ecopocalypse predictions, sourced from green campaigners, has been confirmed as bunk by scientists.
And that news comes on the heels of a report earlier in the week that nearly half of Americans now doubt man-made global warming.
What we appear to have is an inconvenient truth for man-made global warming believers. Yikes! It might not be real! Yikes! We can't force people to give up long-held liberties via the threat of "the day after tomorrow." Yikes! We can't silence the cow farting!

I have to wonder if any firm believers in global warming have changed their minds. I doubt they have. I think the change may after a few years of silence, when the believers will look back and say, "Oh, I guess we stopped believing in that, didn't we?"
Cow powered cars. Stuff dreams are made of (don't stretch the connections too far).
Almost as good as Lewis Carol.
Hi,
the 4th ipcc report was a bit overzealous in a couple of places, but the procedures around admitting references etc. are being improved. The 5th one will be better, but this kind of thing is very difficult to avoid at the interface between science and politics. Politicians crave simple answers from scientists, and much of the pressure to simplify and strengthen conclusions is applied by the politicians.
Before the sceptics get over-excited, the following very strongly supported facts should be borne in mind:
1) There is a greenhouse effect active on earth, which is well understood.
2) Measurements show that atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gasses have increased over the past 1.5 centuries
3) Greenhouse gas increases are due to industrialisation (ie it's anthropogenic)
4) It has been measured that mean global temperature has risen over 20th century
5) There is much evidence that this warming is attributable to humans
6) It is predicted that temperatures will continue to rise if green-house gasses continue to rise.
For every story knocking the IPCC or climate science, run through those six items and ask yourself the news has any impact on any of them.

It's largely bunk, but unfortunately it already is the law of the land in the US. The US Supreme Court has already ruled that carbon dioxide is a pollutant, and is subject to regulation by the Clean Air Act.
So the very air that all animal life on planet earth exhales, and the element that all plant life needs for photosynthesis has been declared a 'pollutant' by five unelected justices on the Supreme Court.
Given that, it largely doesn't matter how many of the wild predictions ultimately get debunked or if the public turns against it. The leftists already have a legal 'in' to eventually regulate all human activity, including commerce, reproduction, etc. And that is what I believe is the true goal of most of the so-called 'green movement'.
