"I really can't think of another important device or service that is as morally bankrupt, stupid, and plain worthless as Microsoft's Vista. Someone should do jail time."

I'm pretty much a mac bigot, although I also celebrate diversity (we have an iMac G5, an old HP running Ubuntu Linux, and a Dell running Vista).
That being said, we've been pretty happy with our Vista install.
I've been running Vista for nearly 2 years, and I guess if you know what you are doing, it's peachy. I've not had anything major go wrong, 'cept for the time my wife thought it would be OK to just turn the PC off.......without shutting down. Ugh.
I haven't had any problems with it either--and I win a lot more often at solitaire, so it can't be all that bad. :)
On a somewhat related topic, last night I upgraded our iMac from Panther (10.3.x) to Leopard (10.5.x). The upgrade went well and we haven't had any significant problems yet.
One thing I wish MS would do is quit waiting half a decade between OS versions. I like Apple's more frequent (and smoother) upgrades.

You do have a point there. Though, to be fair, the service packs are essentially that (which of course doesn't go far enough to invalidate your point).
Well, the SPs kind of help, but Apple does the same thing (and, again, more frequently and smoothly) with regular OS updates as needed. For instance, I installed 10.5.0, and one of the first things the OS did when I brought it up was check for updates - it upgraded me to the minor version 10.5.2.
Finally, I like the fact that Mac OS X is just Mac OS X - there's not Leopard Home Edition, Leopard Professional, Leopard Enterprise, yada yada yada.
Plus, the upgraded OS is (relatively) cheap. To go from Panther to Leopard cost $129. Not sure what Vista's costing off the shelf these days . . .
AND - perhaps most importantly: My machine, which came installed with Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther), just jumped two OS versions, and it still runs about the same. The big knock against Vista is that you have to double the size of your hardware to run it comfortably.
Again, I'm happy w Vista. But MS has got to be disappointed with how it's been received. I think a lot of that is their own fault, with the way they go about OS upgrades.
I'd say my ISP is a close second. Good thing I still use XP. I don't have any major gripes with it ... most of the time.
