The above title was the exact news headline on the yahoo home page. And I thought to myself, "Why is it news that Bob Dole remembers eating a salad? What was so special about it? Where was he that he made a speech and remembered a salad he had eaten?"
Turns out, the headline meant something different. Funny how, out of context, our brains don't always understand things the way they're meant.
Remember that when you overhear someone talking and are attempted to assign meaning to what they said, and then pass it along. You may have heard the words accurately, but that doesn't mean you caught the right meaning.

our intern just told us today that his mom was showing him an article titled "police to investigate hit on k-fed" and wondered why sting's band was getting involved. to make matters worse, an accompanying picture apparently looked like sting.
So Bob doesn't eat salad????
I wonder if he knows it's good for him.
My first thoughts were about Bob Dole also. What a hoot! I wonder what he's been up to?
Hmm. My first thought was the food company pulling salad greens from the market. But maybe because I remember the salmonella thing pretty vividly, as I used to by Dole bagged salad mixes.
I also voted for Dole -- the old dude, not the produce company -- in my first presidential election. It's terrible he's not on my mind more. :-)

LOL.
True enough.
