Don't Let it "Happening" To You

M. Night Shyamalan's film (if you can call it that) The Happening is about to drop on DVD.
Because I'm your friend, I just wanted to remind you that it is a time-sucking black hole of infinite suckitude.

Don't rent it or buy it or put it in your queue. Don't even look at it in the store. Don't glance at it in the Wal-Mart circular. If someone so much as says "What's happening?" to you on the day of its release, slap them. Hard. Then run away as fast as you can.

I'm telling you this for your own good.

You're welcome.

I'd skip Nights In Rodanthe if you're thinking of going to the movies.

I agree. I was really disappointed. Then again I usually always am when I get myself psyched about a movie. I wouldn't recommend it to my more depressed friends, that's for sure.

Lauren,

Keep hold of that one, he sounds smart!

(I loved Lady in the Water too)

Caution I'm tell about the movie that sucked big time!

Gina,
Her shawls were freak'n me out. I just kept thinking how many does she have? Then out of the blue the horse question and duh for the ending. I was almost laughing at the women who started crying long before he died. Yep and I’d make out in a hurricane NOT!

I did make the men laugh as we were walking out and my cousin was gushing about the writer being romantic in real life. His wife would be lawyerd up if he wasn’t, he’s making the big bucks with those chic books and flicks.

"Lady" was good! ;-) I've got "Happening" in my queue, baby!

Lady stunk, but even Lady-likers who saw Happening know Happening was abysmal.

Bird, I'm dead serious, it's awful. If you don't hate it for being poorly written, poorly acted, and stupidly ended (and I think you would), you will hate it for being gratuitously violent.

If you watch it, don't say I didn't warn you.

My wife and I really liked the movie. I appreciate that Shyamalan said in one of the DVD extras that he had set out trying to make the best b-movie ever.

I think he succeeded. Sure the premise was a little bit laughable... the deaths were a little more gruesome than they should have been... some of the characters were cheesy... Wahlberg's acting was bad... but thats what made it a b-movie... and thats what also made it intriguing... for me anyway...
