Don't Quite Know How To Take This

On the way home tonight, I was listening to the Mack Brown show-- the weekly program featuring discussion with the head football coach of the Texas Longhorns himself.

The main commercial sponsor appeared to be a high-powered DWI lawyer.

Money talks and sponsors pay. Fire off an email to let them know that you don't like who they have, chances are you aren't the only one. If they have enough pressure they'll change sponsorships.

Is there an irony here that I'm not aware of?

I don't know if I'd call it irony-- but it does appear that UT football fans must need DWI lawyers a lot.

That was a one-time incident. I've already spoken to the judge and it won't happen again.

uh . . . just kidding

Where were you listening?

In Houston, they have some DWI lawyer on sportsradio all the time. I like that he encourages me to stick his phone number in my cell phone. It would be better for him to encourage me not to drink and drive considering he likely has first-hand experience in how doing so can ruin and/or literally destroy lives. His commercials aren't only on the MB show.

Are you in Austin? Maybe it's a different story. I'm pretty sure that the ads aren't piped in from the Longhorn Sports Network, or whoever produces the show.

I'm in SA. But I've listened to the show before and I don't remember hearing those commercials, whereas I heard them 2-3 times in this one show.
