"Lady in the Water"
Bird - you're the coolest. I'm going to start calling you "Mojo" . . .
Hey Bird - have you heard? Screwtape Letters the movie. No kidding:
http://grandeped.blogspot.com/2007/02/screwtape-letters-movie.html
"I've started learning magic tricks ... for real." - I'm confused by this. Are you the next David Blaine? :)
Shoot, Blake. I'll tell you what, I taught little Dave everything I know!
Seriously, though, once you learn the tricks you're amazed at how simple they are. People still freak out though and wonder what's up when you've seemingly guessed what card they pulled out of a random pile, etc. This one chick yesterday told me, "Ok, I'm getting a little weirded out ... for real."
All that means is the magic is working.

Hey Bird, what's up? I can't believe you don't like rap. Rap rocks, man. Star Trek, now that sucks. I'd rather be playing my Mr. Bones game. ;-)
Once I saw the "Mr. Bones" name, I knew it had to be you. It's probably good that you're incognito around here after dropping that W-B bomb on the Gatorade thread. ;-)
Just stopped in to check out your web site. I love it. I look forward to reading more in the near future.
Two more things: I loved Mere Christianity by C.S.Lewis. Read it years ago, and for some reason, I still can't find my way out of the main hallway of Christianity.
As well, I too was once a photographer and news writer for a small paper in Havelock, North Carolian. I can certainly relate to you comment regarding the knowledge of photography.
Thank you so much for our chess game on FICS, but thanks ever so more for the link to this blog.
Best regards,
slumberjack
Slumberjack,
Thanks for dropping by! That's the first time anyone from FICS has actually ever dropped by and commented. :-)
How often are you on FICS? We'll need to play again sometime.
Well, Bird, I have become a chess addict. I'm on FICS every night, with few exceptions. Usually, after midnight. (EDT) Looking forward to our next game already.
By the way, This is the first blog I have ever participated in. I'm new to the internet. Found FICS in January, just after getting hooked up. I look forward to finding out more about the thinklings.
Finally, how do I sign up for your chess site?
Slumberjack,
I tried sending you an email but it didn't go through. Send me an email to: At Yahoo dot com and I'll tell you all about the chess club here.
Mojo-giver-backer! Yea!
"Lady in the Water." Booooo! Hissss!
