Uh, could someone explain this to me. I'm dense.

Is this the equivelent of the old joke - "The definition of hypocrisy is a teenage boy holding hands with his girlfriend in church while singing 'All that Thrills my soul is Jesus'?

Is this the same sort of joke? If not, I don't think I get it.
