I'm looking to recruit new members for our little chess community here at Thinklings. It's funny that you mention this. I know a couple of people, and was just this week wondering if it would be cool to invite them to the Thinklings chess site. God does work in mysterious ways doesn't he?
Of course, there is no way to know if these people will show up, but I will certainly ask.
I wish I had time for chess. Maybe after things settle down after the move. Who knows when that will be?
Heard about you in the BHT. It's been about 12 years since I played seriously, but I'm up for some correspondence chess, if you'll tell me how.

Thanks for your interest. It's a fun little chess community we've got going right now. After five games each player gets a rating and you can see how you're doing against other rated players by looking at where everyone is ranked. We even have a bulletin board type forum that's pretty active.
I'm busy shooting a wedding all day today, but I'll get with you sometime this weekend on the details.

One more thing. As far as skill level goes, you guys don't have to worry. We have players in there who hardly ever win, and we have players who hardly ever lose. There's plenty of competition no matter what level you're at.
I'm interested. However, after living in China for a year, I've become a big fan of Chinese Chess (Zhong Guo Xiang Qi). Could we work some Xiang Qi in there?

Apologies, as an apostate--it's been a rough few months, I'm afraid . . . I do keep meaning to get back rolling again, and now that we're past the hardest point of this summer (a funeral, which we celebrated this afternoon), maybe I'll be able to do that. (Along with my blog, which has been sitting untouched for over a month . . .)
I still only want to watch. Maybe watching will draw a few victims in.... Any way yet to observe games in progress?
