How's our RSS?

A commenter (Ken) wrote the following earlier in the week in a comment thread here at Thinklings.

"Perhaps it is by design, but your blog does not play well with Google Reader. When I use Reader on my iPhone I see the feed but every time I go to read a post I get an error. Using Reader in my browser works --- I can read the posts --- but the post titles (which are usually links to the post itself) are not links at all."

I believe I've addressed these problems; at least Google Reader now seems to be rendering our feed correctly in a browser, though I haven't yet tested it on a phone. Do any of you pull Thinklings in on a feed reader? If so, could you let me know what reader you use and if it's working right for you, or if you're having any problems? Leave a comment if you can.

And, of course, thanks in advance for your help in improving Bloo. This will aid me in my nefarious plot to make Bloo the supreme blogging tool in the Blogoverse!

Bill,

I've been using the FireFox RSS and it seems to be working well. The titles seem to be behind the posts by a certain time, I don't know how long, but this has been true with all the blogs in my RSS. They DO show up.

Actually, Brian, I think you're onto something. I just found a bit of a problem with the way the dates are encoded in the RSS feed. I keep going into brain-lock on that, for some reason ;-) - will fix.

At the moment, Bill, my RSS doesn't show your post on Jared's book or the post by Mark. Yet they are on the blog web site in my browser. I think it might be a problem in the FireFox RSS though. They will so up later but I'm not sure when.

Brian
Your problems are probably due to my editing that post 5 times now, it is confused.

The last two posts have shown up in my RSS now.

No Mark I think your writing is fine, as is your editing. I really do think the FireFox RSS is just slow.

Just went to this post from Google Reader. It formerly do that, but apparently no longer.

It formerly do what?

It's now working in Mobile Reader on my iPhone.

I could always SEE the posts in Google Reader, but up until now I couldn't click the post title and actually get to the post, or even the site. I always figured it was a Google Reader problem, and never paid it much attention.

Thanks Ken for the help!

Warren, it was an issue with, I think, Google Reader just being more strict on the RSS fields it would take into account, versus the way our RSS was structured.

Thanks Sherry and Joe. Much appreciated
