- Martin Luther
I'm very much intrigued with the forthcoming 24: Redemption. Here's some info from the show's website:
After sacrificing everything for his country, Jack Bauer (Sutherland) is wanted by the U.S. government and now stands to lose the only thing he has left: his freedom. Working as a missionary in Africa, Bauer is called upon to stop a ruthless warlord from drafting innocent children into his murderous militia. First, Bauer must confront his own torturous past and face an impossible decision that will change his life forever. A decision that will set the stage and raise the stakes for Season Seven, which debuts in January 2009.
Redemption, a two-hour event, will air Sunday, Nov. 23.

That synopsis alone might be enough to get me back on 24. The last two seasons were, in my opinion, vastly inferior to the first four, and I had kind of given up. But maybe after two year break, they're getting it back? Here's to hope!
Hopefully they took some time to write a coherent, 24-episode plot. The extremeties and suspensions of belief (Jack's never sleeping, never eating, never relieving himself, never running out of cell power, killing people with his thighs and teeth ways, for example) are totally cool if there's a plot and somewhat believable characters.
Let's hope.
Jack's Back, baybeh
If you charge your cell every night while you sleep, there's no reason to ever run out of cell power :).
Jack's never sleeping
Anyone can stay awake for 24 hours. Especially if you're well rested and baddies are gunning for you.
never eating
He ate a meal once. I believe it was in Season 1.
never relieving himself
They just don't focus on him relieving himself. I'll say this, while terrorists were torturing him I'm 100 percent sure he wet his pants. Wouldn't you?
killing people with his thighs and teeth
Kind of like Sayid at the end of Lost S3? That was cool. I'd like to see Bauer and Sayid go head to head.
I love the show (its the one show I know of where I have never missed an episode) but I don't think we should hope for too much on the Jack finds Jesus angle.
When President Logan was exiled in season 6, he was reading his Bible and clearly seeking redemption......but rather than flesh out that angle, they had his estranged wife kill him with a knitting needle......for me that was the worst moment in 24 history.....Martha Logan was allegedly insane in season 5, but actually wasn't....then suddenly in season 6 she is? It was such a cheap way to write two great characters off the show.....and maybe even worse - that was the last we saw of Aaron too - Aaron rocks.
It was also interesting in those season 6 scenes with Logan that Jack kept looking back at the Bible on the table, like he knew that it held the answers to what haunts him - I can only hope they won't tease us again with this.....but the show has a history of raising and immediately unceremoniously dismissing compelling subplots......I quibble though, I'm still a 24 nerd.
That looks awesome!
