"People have fallen into a foolish habit of speaking of orthodoxy as something heavy, humdrum, and safe. There never was anything so perilous or so exciting as orthodoxy."

- G.K. Chesterton

Thank you, gentlemen. We owe you more than we could ever repay.

It takes a special kind of courage to leave the relative safety of a boat and march up to the beach as the bullets and bombs fly toward you, knowing that you do so not for yourself but for others. The victory goes unseen by the brave men who made it possible.

It saddens me that I'm a day late here. I can't properly express my gratitude and thanks to those brave souls.

this should make us want to work out our physical-realm salvation with fear and trembling.....these men saved us.....may we all heed the Captain's words to Private Ryan as he died......."Earn This"

Beau recorded a D-Day show for me that was on the History Channel yesterday because he knows of my infatuation with the Band of Brothers guys, Major Winters. Winters (101st Airborne) said how on the flight to Normandy he prayed the whole way - not for himself to survive the battle to come, but that he wouldn't let down his fellow men by screwing up. And then he and his men did amazing things once they hit the ground.

They were the Greatest Generation, for sure. We live free today because of their bravery and sacrifice 60+ years ago.
