I was surprised you said you haven't read a good book in a long time. I may only offer the humble suggestion you read one of my favorites. It is an old book, and far from reverent. Yet in a way it is told in a Christ-like way, regarding irreverent lives.

After all, didn't Christ teach us that it was the sinful that needed more help than the self proclaimed self righteous? All those "temple goers"? And what better way to help understand them and their lives than to read a well written story of their lives.

Alas, you have probably already read Tortilla Flat, by John Steinbeck. Yet, I am not in agreement with my Daddy's declaration that once a book is read, you may discard it. I have read the story several times, and each time I enjoy it as much or more as I did the first time. And learn something new as well.

Well shucks, we all re-read the Bible don't we?

Of course, there are those that may say the same thing about Huckleberry Finn; Or, Call of the Wild, Or any number of books....

Presumptions notwithstanding I guess my point is---with all due respect---perhaps you haven't read a good book lately for the simple reason you haven't tried very hard to find one.
