"The first and most important thing to say about John Dominic Crossan's work is that it is bad history."

Lost: Confirmed Dead

You asked for it so here it is.

The Lost Thread.

OK, my wife and I had to watch this from the DVR recording and the last few seconds cut off. PLEASE, someone tell us what happens after Ben says, "Your instinct was right John." Because then AAAARRRRRGGGG our recording ended.

C.S.Lewis is now on the island and she is a chick.

My two cents.

I really like the new characters. I don't know all their names just yet but they certainly fit in nicely. An anthropologist, a ghost chaser, a drunk, and hmm what was the first guy's occupation?

Oh, does that lawyer dude really work for Oceanic? If so why would he be sending the team out to find Ben? I think he must work for DHARMA. There is obviously a connection.

I'm sure I am stating the obvious.

What did you think of tonight's episode?

Tonight's ep? AWESOME. New characters (who aren't annoying). One's name is CS LEWIS!

Here's the end of the ep, according to Lostpedia. It's pretty brief:

Meanwhile, Locke prepares to kill Ben, despite the protests of Alex and other members of the group. While being held at gunpoint, Ben informs Locke that he has valuable information. Locke asks Ben what the monster is. Ben says that he doesn't know. However, he says that Locke was right, the freighter people are dangerous. Ben says he has information about them and proceeds to provide biographical details about Charlotte. Locke asks how Ben can know all this. Ben informs Locke that the group is here looking for him, and that he has a man on their boat.

Cool, thanks for the heads up.
I couldn't wait until the ABC upload to find out that last tidbit.

By the way do you think my Black and Decker hand vac could suck up a ghost? I seriously doubt it. That thing can't even pick up the Cheerios under our dinning room table.

I was wondering if it was accomplishing a purpose or if he was just running it to make noise so he could talk to the thing.

Hilarious. True, also, about Dirt Devil.

I thought it was a noise maker, too. A distraction so that he looks less nuts when he starts chatting with the ghosts.

So . . . theories as to who Abbadon is working for? DHARMA? Why they're going after Benry?

Possibly, they are going after him because he KILLED EVERYONE there. He might not be the only one who left to be with the natives.

Also, it's apparent that Abbadon knows the nature of the island which is why he put a ghost whisperer in there along with a physicist and an anthropologist who has some sort of knowledge of Dharma and polar bears not being where they're supposed to be.

There is this freaky slow motion thing on the losteastereggs blogspot from last week's episode of Abbadon leaving Hurley. It doesn't look like a human leaving - just a dark shadow, kind of like the smoke monster.

So, I wonder if anyone has ever tried to use a vacuum cleaner to suck up the smoke monster?

I found this interesting from the Wikipedia entry on Abaddon:

"In Biblical poetry (Job 26:6; Proverbs 15:11), it comes to mean "place of destruction", or the realm of the dead, and is associated with Sheol. Abaddon is also one of the compartments of Gehenna.[1] By extension, it can mean an underworld abode of lost souls, or hell.

In Revelation 9:11, it is personified as Abaddon, "Angel of the Abyss",[1] rendered in Greek as Apollyon; and he is described as king of the locusts which rose at the sounding of the fifth trumpet. In like manner, in Rev. vi. 8, Hades is personified following after death to conquer the fourth part of the earth."

So, the island is hell, like Locke's Dad said...

So, what of the photos of the plane on thee ocean floor? The remote sub guys were convinced, but we know it wasn't Oceanic 815.

Also, there was something on the ocean floor just before they switched cameras I think. Anyone else catch that? A box or a purse or something.

So, does the Charlotte chick (is that the Lewis character, I didn't catch that) actually not know why they are there or was she just acting? She was convincing as far as I'm concerned, but at the end her face said "Uh, oh, they figured it out."

Did you catch how the ghost chaser said something about the light not being right on the island? What was that about?

BTW - My new B&D hand vac is awesome. It's AC powered, not battery. It really sucks. :-D

hmm what was the first guy's occupation?

I think he was a psychic? Was that why he was crying when he saw the remains of "Oceanic 815" and didn't know why?

10. gretchen from lifenut - 02/08/2008 12:21 pm CST

Daniel Farraday, the first person encountered by Jack and Kate, said he is a physicist. He was the one who said the light wasn't right on the island, not the guy who talks to the dead (Miles).

11. jen - 02/08/2008 12:21 pm CST

No, he's a physicist or something scientific like that. He said he was sort of like a physicist.

No clue why he was crying.

12. Crossbow - 02/08/2008 1:12 pm CST

Right - sorry - a physicist. But he also said something about being outside of the mainstream or not normal in his way of doing it or something. I just saw online where Naomi refers to him as a "head case".

13. damien - 02/09/2008 9:05 am CST

yea, i noticed that strange little allusion to (clive) staples lewis too.
