- Rick Warren
With regard to the famous Patterson-Gimlin film, most detractors dismiss it as a man in a monkey suit. In my opinion, modern eyes are colored by Hollywood special effects. From what I've read -- and I've read a decent amount on this subject -- if the P-G film was a hoax, it's one of the best hoaxes in modern history. Take 10 minutes to review this film that was aired on the National Geographic channel, because it might make you question your presuppositions.

Mine is Chupacabra.
For real?
til I read the Wikipedia article about the background and origins of the video. Pretty darn convienient that a dude writing a book about bigfoot and producing a documentary, just happens to record one right when he needed it, in a daylight, in an open area.
Yes, that certainly calls into question the authenticity of the video. On the other hand, P & G supposedly had knowledge of where BF activity might be, and they were investigating an area that had had a previous sighting not long before they were there. Also, the BF (or man in monkey suit) in the original was quite small in the frame. I don't think P & G would have had any idea how digitized, enlarged, and scrutinized the video would be years down the road. It certainly could be a hoax, but if it is, it's a doozy.
About Chupacabra -Dude, I think there may really be some creature down here in South Texas, northern Mexico that hasn't been categorized yet. And I think that creature may be what some have called "chupacabra" (goat-sucker).
I personally have seen something cross my path at night, too large to be a cat, that moved like no other native critter I've ever seen (raccoon, armadillo, fox or whatever) It was amazing.
Nevertheless, it could have been a regular animal, I could be mistaken. I know. But people have found dead critters....and Texas A7M says they are just coyotes with mange, but I'm not buying it.. :-)
Truthfully, I don't know, they probably don't exist...but I'm holding out hope! :-)
google this: Kens 5 chupacabra
KENS 5 is San Antonio's local CBS News station. You wouldn't believe the amount of sightings they've covered.

Cool post Bird.
It makes me wonder, how many of us Thinklings and readers each have our own pet belief in something that most people reject.
Mine is Chupacabra. :-)
As for Bigfoot, I'm cool. Wouldn't cause me any great shock if such a creature turned out to exist. This video you posted here had me almost convinced, til I read the Wikipedia article about the background and origins of the video. Pretty darn convienient that a dude writing a book about bigfoot and producing a documentary, just happens to record one right when he needed it, in a daylight, in an open area.
That doesn't rule out the authenticity of this video completely, but at least in my mind, it casts serious doubts.
We don't know how lots of people did things that seem to be beyond their technological ability, yet they did. I don't think aliens helped build the pyramids or stonehenge either. :-)
