I'm watching last night's ep of "Entourage" on Tivo right now, and lo and behold here's M. Night Shyamalan playing himself, doing a send-up of himself. Awesome.
Based on interviews and other articles, despite liking the man as an artist, I was never convinced he had much of a sense of humor about himself. I guess I was wrong. Self-deprecation becomes him.

I still haven't forgiven Shama-lama for "Lady in the Water" - I need to have a stogie w/ De sometime and have him explain it to me.
Otherwise, he is a great director - "Unbreakable" is still my favorite super-hero film.
I catch Entourage when I can, but missed this one. You've given me reason to DVR this episode when it is rerun again this week - I would like to see it......it is a good PR move for M. Night to do something self-depricating - he's had a reputation of being somewhat self-promoting....undeserved I think - its partly because he puts himself in all of his films - people think he's trying to be the new Hitchcock.

Or maybe the next Woody Allen or the next Stan Lee, or the next Stephen King or maybe the next Kevin Smith or maybe the next Quentin Tarantino or....
Good grief. Maybe lots of people do that? Personally, I think it's cool. Now if he were a lousy actor and his part ruined the movie, that would be a point. but I don't think his onscreen roles have ever taken away. (I must admit his role in "Lady" was pretty big though. Much more than a cameo.)
Now those guys who insist on putting their spouses in front of the camera....ooooh, that bugs me.
Are you listening, David Mamet?
I love Night. I'm sure that if he weren't already married to someone else, I'd be inviting all of you guys to our wedding...
