Today my daughter Bethany, a sophomore in high school, found out that she is currently ranked SECOND in her class of over 800. She's playing it down, but I think that's pretty cool.
I've got smart kids. They get it from their mom.
She also is a copy editor for the school newspaper, and had a byline on two articles published in the first edition, which came out today. One of them was on page 1.
Awesome job, Beth!

That's nothing. I graduated something like 450 out of 625. Something like that. ;-)
On a serious note ... Bill, your kids have got some intel.
Yeah, it appears that way. I didn't mention it, but Molly (Beth's older sister) is a senior and ended up ranked 20th in her class of around 700 (straight As all the way through HS). They work so hard. It gets harder as they go, and Beth figures she'll slip some, but what a great start as a Freshman.
BETHANY!
Incredible. Something else that Bill doesn't mention is that his kids are hilarious. Although I haven't spent enough time with his youngest to say for certain, I can't imagine him being not funny with his older sibs as clever as they are.
I'd hang out with the Roberts clan any day of the week. Entertainment. Intelligent conversation. Spiritually astute. The perfect picture of God's grace through incredible parenting . . .
Wow - thanks Quaid. Although I'd amend your last statement to read "an imperfect picture of God's perfect grace through clueless parenting" - which is the way many parents of teenagers that I know feel. Certainly Jill and I do. :-)
Blake (our youngest) is quite a little comedian (and song and dance man) in his own right, so maybe he'll keep that Roberts comedic mojo going.
2nd of 800? That's amazing.
Congratulations!
