"Membership in the family of God is neither inconsequential or something to be casually ignored. The church is God's agenda for the world. Jesus said, "I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it." The church is indestructable and will exist for eternity. It will outlive this universe, and so will your role in it."

Loved this conversation between Tim Keller, Nancy Leigh DeMoss, and Collin Hansen.

Is the video automatically starting for anybody else? It is doing that for me. I did not set it up to do that and I don't know how to turn it off.

Sorry for the annoyance.

2. Bill - 06/23/2011 12:56 pm CDT

Yes, it's automatically starting.

3. nhe - 06/24/2011 12:10 pm CDT

It's not annoying, there is a big pause button.

Really interesting here about the importance of BOTH building the altar AND calling down the fire.......also interesting about the importance of hearing/telling the stories and that when God's Spirit is moving, the stories are out of control

The GC website is almost as awesome as yours Jared..... :)

The Lord can do in a day far more than we can do in decades of planning. I love it.

5. Bill - 06/24/2011 6:36 pm CDT

Jared - I set autoplay to 0 in the embed, that fixed the issue.

6. baaah - 06/25/2011 7:02 pm CDT

I take exception to Hansen's words, "God is obviously not going to send his Holy Spirit to a
[apostate] Church which does not believe in the Trinity..."

Zillions of Spirit indwelt Pentecostals would
refute this statement.

The Shema: Hear oh Israel, the Lord our God the Lord is One....

This was orthodox before Christians ever defined "orthodox.."

7. Jared - 06/25/2011 9:02 pm CDT

Baaah, not all Pentecostals deny the Trinity.

But for the ones who do, I agree with Hansen. If you deny the Trinity, it is not the Holy Spirit that is indwelling you but another kind.

8. baaah - 06/25/2011 9:28 pm CDT

Yah, joost lak de spirit of de Jewish peoples!!

EEvill. Kneeevil. Shema refoots you brudda!!

9. Jared - 06/25/2011 9:45 pm CDT

Nope. NT reveals what Shema means.

10. Baaah - 06/26/2011 8:00 am CDT

And what is that, dear?

I am hoping you have a thinkling and not something
thunk down to you by someone else.

If you research this issue scripturally, you might find yourself on the other side of your other samarai, although I heard Bird has been consorting with the Homestead Heritage evil spirits...

Uh, I won't mention evil spirits anymore, which I consider beneath both of us. You started that gambit. But seriously you guys talk about revival and oneness between denominations and get stuck over this issue? Do you realize bullions and bullions of Jews will not consider Christianity because of this most basic tenet of their faith? Which is the stumbling block taking their eyes off of Christ as Messiah? Also you have made God into three personalities when even from the human perspective there are two at very most? What personality is the Holy Spirit? Uh, comforting?

You guys branded yourselves as samarai. I'm a half arsed oriental meshelf and take exception.
I don't really think you have a scriptural leg to stand on, after our sword are put back. Name the rules of debate and unguard. You is challenged.

11. Jared - 06/26/2011 11:36 am CDT

Not three personalities. Three Persons. If you want to reject the doctrine of the Trinity, at least reject a right understanding of it.

Also: The blog is like a blogger's living room. I wouldn't come to your house and sit in your chair and talk to you like you're talking to me. So: stop being smug. Or go away.

12. baaah - 06/26/2011 1:40 pm CDT

Since when did the Ruach of God become a person?

And since when did anyone ever know or agree on what this meant?

Oh, I cannot disagree with something you have on your blog? Or take exception, as I put it?

This is not your living room. This is a club you have set up with your friends. With communication to the outside. But your brand of "samarai" is false if you do not do battle. Stick within your own club and you can kudo each other. Okay with me, except you are not speaking anymore of reaching out to a Christian utopian community anymore. What is this club? Mostly Church of God in Christ? Okeay, that makes sense.

13. Jared - 06/26/2011 3:19 pm CDT

Person does not mean "human being." You don't even understand what the Trinity means.

Baaah, if you want to insult, club or living room, you are not welcome here, especially under the cloak of anonymity. That is cowardly.

14. baaah - 06/26/2011 3:34 pm CDT

Me sound stupid sometimes...

You insult. "Another spirit?" Omigosh, this was a compliment, I'm sorry. Forgive me, brother for falsely taking offense.

Hansen, now you. The Trinity is ununderstandable because of it's very paradigm. Intrinsically.

I understand if you do not want to duke it out. Just get another avatar for your website. How about "Girls at a pillow party?"

15. Jared - 06/26/2011 4:11 pm CDT

How about if you want to duke it out, you actually bring fists?

Your "assaults" against the Trinity demonstrate your ignorance. If you're going to a gunfight, make sure you look up in the dictionary what a "gun" is.

And on top of your cowardice and smugness, I know you don't have the true Spirit of God, because you aren't demonstrating his gentleness, his peace, his self-control.

Bye now.

Strangest troll ever?

17. Bill - 06/27/2011 12:36 pm CDT

Not by a long shot :-)
