"Membership in the family of God is neither inconsequential or something to be casually ignored. The church is God's agenda for the world. Jesus said, "I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it." The church is indestructable and will exist for eternity. It will outlive this universe, and so will your role in it."

RG III!

Congratulations to Robert Griffin III, and to Baylor, for winning the Heisman trophy tonight.

My wife went to Baylor and so I've always been a disinterested fan of the school's football team. While we were dating we took in a few Baylor games back in the day and I've always hoped the team would do well. Of course, since eldest son and youngest daughter (and lots and lots of our shekels) started going there, I've become a very interested fan.

Last weekend we went to Waco to watch Baylor play UT. Robert Griffin III had a great game. It's not often that one gets to see greatness in person. Watching RG III play that night as the Bears trounced UT reminded me of when I got to see Lionel Messi play. That was a different sport, but the same display of transcendent talent.

Robert Griffin III is also, by all accounts, a fine young man off the field. My congratulations to him and to Baylor Nation!

From what I understand, Waco is going nuts with joy right now.

Congratulations to Griffin and to Baylor. It will be that much sweeter when the Huskies pull off the Alamo Bowl upset.

Brian - we'll see, I suppose. I think that Baylor might fare well against a team that only had 6 Div-I wins. Not to mention the fact that the Huskies absolutely fold whenever they play against a dynamic QB. What was that Stanford score again??? But - the game is played on the field, so maybe U-Dub can pull it off.

As for RG3 - the man deserved it. I'm happy for him and - as a Texas fan - sincerely wish him the best in the NFL. He could come back to school and do the whole thing over, but unless Baylor's defense gets remarkably better and the Bears pull in a stronger running game to provide some cover for RG3, I don't see them doing better, as a team, than they did this year.

Congratulations Baylor! Hopefully, this notoriety maintains your standing in the upper tier of Big XII football and into a perennial contender. Briles has the chops to do it, provided he recruit well.

Congrats to Griffin and Baylor. He was deserving of the award and it's nice to see it go to the guy who (IMO) really did have the best season this year, rather than a guy who came in with more preseason hype.

It's nice to know that Griffin and I entered Baylor the same year, and unless he decides to stay, we will leave at the same time. I think he will have a nice NFL career, and I look forward to telling my children that I used to see him at the gas station, buying Gatorade.

This will sound strange, but despite all the Tebow hype in recent weeks, I find myself much more enamored with the on and off the field presence of RG3.

I find him to be extremely well-spoken and humble. To me, he's Michael Vick with virtue, personality (the Superman socks) and leadership ability.

I know the Falcons don't need a QB.....and I'm bummed because I want RG3 on MY TEAM....I really think he's going to be SPECIAL, and turn around an NFL franchise - guessing Miami.

I agree, nhe - I think he has a real potential to be great in the NFL.
