Sarah Palin conducts an interview while a turkey is (from what I'm told - it was kind of hard to tell) killed in the background. And the world explodes.
You don't have to think she's the next Reagan to see the ridiculousness in the reactions of the mainstream media and liberals1 to this capable Alaskan politician.
Do you?

After she's sworn in in 2013, I hope President Palin arranges for a ritual turkey slaughter to be going on behind her at every press conference, if only during David Shuster's questions.

I almost spit my juice out! It's a bit funny because she knew and it in no way stopped her. What would have made it better was if she would have turned to the guy who was working on the turkey and said Great job Joe my kids are gonna fight over those drumsticks"
As for us Dems our turkeys are gently put to sleep then told to just go to the light.
She was promoting a local business without a doubt someone should have stopped the work but she didn’t kill the thing. I’m betting that the animal rights folks are going nuts on this one.

Any politician who would do such an interview is not ready to lead. That's just another strike against her, IMO.

Whoever the newscaster/cameraman/network, etc. that did this interview, its their fault. Period. It is true that it is probably a little distasteful to do an interview in front of animals being bled to death. One of the funniest things is that you can see that the guy is uncomfortable about killing the thing on camera and can't quite figure out what to do. The fact of the matter is, it shows a little bit of ignorance on everyone's part to not realize that this could be potentially harmful/distasteful/hilarious/viral.

I am SHOCKED that you would for one moment believe that font of wit and wisdom, Mark Steyn, could be anything but Canadian. I mean REALLY!
