"Why do people choose the substitute over God himself? Probably the most important reason is that it obviates accountability to God. We can meet idols on our own terms because they are our own creations. They are safe, predictable, and controllable; they are, in Jeremiah's colorful language, the 'scarecrows in a cornfield' (10:5). They are portable and completely under the user's control. They offer nothing like the threat of a God who thunders from Sinai and whose providence in this world so often appears to us to be incomprehensible and dangerous . . . [People] need face only themselves. That is the appeal of idolatry."

That Trailer is genius.
I love how the announcer says, "AND Kermit ...the frog?" like he's surprised too.
So the first 30 seconds of the trailer...not really what the movie's about, I guess. :-)

Ditto Stroke. None of the Jim Henson-voiced muppets sound right post-Henson. Especially Kermit.

I was pretty excited when I first heard that Jason Segel was bringing back the muppets. This seems to be vintage Muppet movie stuff. For all of her Oscar-worthy performances, Amy Adams will be incredible in this film (see, especially, Enchanted).
Nothing, outside of HP7.2, really excites me about films this summer (Although, I'm intrigued by the Smurfs and my wife raved about The Help when she read it, which is coming out on film in August) - I'm looking forward, instead, to Thanksgiving already.
