"Up"

Fantastic movie. Seriously.
Some scenes of peril, so maybe not ideal for itty bitty ones.
But it's a sweet, exciting, funny, heartwarming movie. And smart as all get out. The writing and performances are fantastic.
Even if you don't have kids, go see it.

At this point, I'm not sure Pixar can do any wrong.

I'm sad that my kids have grown out of the stage where we would make a Pixar film a "family event" on opening weekend.

I'm trying to catch Kung Fu Panda on HBO when its on, because I've heard that's great too.....but I keep falling asleep when it starts.

I loved it too and so did my tiny kids. I went into it on Saturday having ignored any promotion beyond the trailer I saw a while back, so I didn't know where the story was going other than Carl and Russell in a floating house. It was fantastic. Made me cry more than once.

i know what you're saying. how can those pixar folks continue with such brilliance? i took my 18 and 20 year old daughters and we had a great time. this movie is such a gem of originality and story-telling. it has very poignant moments and really unexpected twists. i can't stop thinking about the dogs. funny. funny. funny.

I saw this with two of the grandkids and loved it. Starting crying and for the most part cried the whole way. You have to be in the winter of your life to really enjoy the full impact of this movie. And since PaPa and I just returned from a three year adventure it really spoke to my heart and the scene where the house is flying away and all that "stuff" I could so relate. Great movie it will be one to buy on DVD.

Cars.

I can't speak for Cars, not having seen it, and I don't think A Bug's Life was genius--but I've never seen them really shank a movie yet, and they have some truly brilliant ones out. (I don't watch a lot of movies, so it doesn't mean as much as it might, but I have seen very, very few films I thought were better than WALL-E.)

Awesome movie. I saw it with my seventeen year old daughter. It was hilarious, because about five minutes into the movie she started crying and continued, basically without a break, for the entire movie. She has a soft-spot in her heart for old couples, endings, etc. For most of the movie, her crying was at the level of sniffles, but at some parts it was full-out sobbing, with her trying to stifle the noise (and laughing through her tears) and with me sitting next to her laughing at the situation and yet misting up at the sweetness of it too.

Great movie. Brilliant.

Dug was probably my favorite character. He reminded me a lot of my dog, Cooper, assuming Cooper could talk.

Did anyone catch this near the end? When Carl and Russell are playing the "Red car/Blue car" game, Dug says "I see a gray one". Ha! It's those little Pixar touches like that that add so much.

The mini-movie at the beginning ("Partly Cloudy") was excellent as well.

Except for Cars and a Bugs Life, I don't think Pixar has had any false steps at all (and those movies weren't bad, just slightly below par). I didn't see Kung Fu Panda - was that Pixar?

Kung Fu Panda was Dreamworks. It was good though. I liked it. (But not Pixar in reality or quality).

But we liked it.
