Why the God-Blogosphere Apocalypse is Nigh

I just read a blogger apologize (sincerely, not sarcastically) for calling another blogger's remarks "dumb" when what he really meant is that they were "stupid."

The reason for the apology is that he meant to echo a Proverb that uses "stupid" and he misremembered it as "dumb." Or something like that.

Wait, he sincerely apologized for saying someone said something dumb, because the more Biblical insult was that what they said was stupid?

That's dumb.

I mean, that's stupid.

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

I think there was more involved, in that he was defending himself repeatedly based on his mistakenly using dumb or something, but that's the gist, I think.

I'm very sorry for saying this thread stinks......I meant to say it sucks. :)

I feel bad for calling Jared a miscreant. I really meant to say that he's a malefactor.

Make that a rapscallion.

You guys clearly don't get the profound nuances of the English language. The difference between dumb and stupid is SO obvious. What are you, idiots?

7. Bill - 06/14/2008 4:28 pm CDT

Well, yes, I'm an idiot.

However, Jared is merely a simpleton, and nhe is a cretin.

It's important to get those nuances.

I'm a sniveling git.

Ask my brother, he said so.

This post, the comments, and the commenters all are NOT dumb. They are intellectually challenged.

Yeah that whole thing was ... interesting.

By which I mean boring and odd.
