5 Tips for Adopting a Lighter Morning Routine

Starting the day with morning wellness habits was something that had a huge impact on my productivity and quality of life! Today I would like to share with you 5 quick habits that I have included in my daily life that make a lot of difference.

As I have a baby around here, the habits are really quick and easy to fit into any routine! I hope they can inspire you to have a lighter morning of self-care, even if it’s just that simple!

1. Get out of bed and do a stretching sequence

The famous stretcher, you know? Sometimes we get up in a hurry to start the day and forget to let our bodies know it’s time to move! I like to really get out of bed, sit on the mat and stretch my arms, legs, spine and take a deep breath. Thing of a few minutes and believe me: it seems that the whole body is lighter!

2. Meditate with the help of an app

Meditating alone is something for professionals. Haha ha! But there are lots of cool meditation apps, with guided sequences of a few minutes that help us focus on breathing and clear the mind. I usually meditate for only 5 minutes and I really like the calm of emptying my mind and escaping a little of the reality of so many tasks.

3. Prepare a refreshing drink

Coffee is good, but have you tried starting your morning routine with something tasty and cold? Especially on hot mornings I really like to prepare a refreshing drink and the menu always varies so I don’t get seasick. Grab your beautiful drink, sit in a comfortable place and set aside in advance how many minutes (or pages) you will devote to the book. Even if it’s just a little bit, making this a daily habit will surprise you with the evolution of your reading!

5. Write thoughts and ideas

I don’t know about you, but after these few minutes of self-care in the morning routine I tend to have such a fresh head that I’m in my best state to write! I like to list thoughts, ideas, things that can become texts later or that simply help me to better plan the day and the activities I intend to do.

If they are work ideas, I use apps like Evernote and Trello to organize myself properly . If they are free thoughts, I usually write in a physical notebook – it’s amazing how paper gives a different inspiration, right?

To end the morning, I always write in my planner a to-do list for the day. It’s time to put our plan for world domination into practice! Haha ha! After a morning like this it gets easier, right?

Of course if you manage to include exercises and other activities in the morning it will be even more beneficial, but for me this little bit – you can do everything in less than 1 hour! – it could already be the big divide between a bad day and an amazing day.
